Hello Friends & Family! This February, I am fortunate enough to have the opportunity to compete for the title of Miss Alaska USA in the upcoming pageant being held in Anchorage, Alaska. I am honored to have the chance to be a part of a program that encourages the empowerment of women and celebrates the wide range of diversity that exists within our beautiful state. Some of you may know, representing Alaska on the Miss USA stage has been a goal of mine for many years. However, the bigger dream lies in making a positive impact within the lives of young women. I want to encourage young girls to embrace the unique qualities that make each one of them special. I'd like to encourage them to feel confidently beautiful, not with what we accomplish or even who we become, but with the way we have lived and loved along the way. The Miss Alaska USA Pageant empowers women to develop the confidence they need to achieve their personal best. What I love about this organization is the importance they place on getting involved and giving back to the community. It is my goal to be a role model for others by working to affect positive change through volunteerism, and advocacy. In accordance with my core values, I have been involved with the American Heart Association for the 'Go Red for Women' event, The 'Cruise With A Cause' for the Fairbanks Resource Agency; as well as, being a mentor for the 'Alaska Princess Pageant,' the CHAM Fashionable, and most recently the 'Alaska Federation of Natives' conference being held this October. It is my hope that anyone who reads this message and shares my vision, can see how far I have come and how ready I am to hold this title.
